Common questions, clear answers.
These answers can help clients understand what to expect before they book.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended so we can confirm the requested service, required documents, and availability. Walk-in availability can be added later if that becomes part of The Proof Lab’s operating model.
What should I bring for DNA testing?
Requirements depend on whether the test is legal or peace-of-mind. Legal DNA collections generally require government-issued identification and the specific chain-of-custody process required by the partner laboratory.
What is the difference between legal and peace-of-mind DNA testing?
Peace-of-mind testing is generally for personal knowledge. Legal testing follows documented identity verification and chain-of-custody procedures so the results may be suitable for certain official or legal uses, subject to the laboratory’s requirements.
Do you offer DOT and Non-DOT drug testing?
The Proof Lab is being built to offer both DOT and Non-DOT collection services. DOT services will be performed only after applicable collector qualification requirements and testing-partner arrangements are in place.
What types of drug-test specimens may be available?
Depending on the partner laboratory and service setup, options may include urine, hair, and oral-fluid collections. Available methods will be listed clearly once the final testing partnerships are established.
Do you draw blood?
The Proof Lab plans to offer eligible blood and specialty-kit specimen collection services after the applicable Alabama facility, laboratory-partner, and collection requirements are finalized.
Do you offer mobile testing?
Mobile service may be available for employer collections and other qualifying services in Montgomery and surrounding areas. Availability and fees can vary by location, service type, and requested time.
Can businesses set up an account?
Yes. Employer and corporate accounts can be offered for recurring screening needs such as pre-employment, random, post-accident, DOT/Non-DOT, and mobile workplace collections.
How long do results take?
Turnaround time depends on the type of test, specimen, laboratory, and whether additional confirmation testing is needed. Clients should receive the expected timeframe for their specific service when the appointment is confirmed.
How much does testing cost?
Pricing depends on the service, testing method, laboratory fees, and whether mobile or after-hours collection is requested. Final pricing can be displayed once partner-lab costs are confirmed.
Do you work with attorneys or legal professionals?
The Proof Lab can pursue referral relationships for legal DNA and other approved chain-of-custody collection needs through qualified laboratory partners.
Do you provide after-hours collections?
After-hours and urgent employer collections may be offered by request once the final staffing, mobile service, and operating policies are established.
